Founded in 2009, Bear Kid emerged from hibernation in the summer of 2010 – all skinny and hungry – with the release of its first batch of limited apparel driven by one philosophy: to feed the vibrant creativity that invigorates each and every one of us.
To get in touch with the passion that made us climb trees, and build forts, and play-fight as superheroes and villains over the fate of the world (and by “world” we mean our neighbour’s lawn… sorry Ms. Jackson. Were those daisies real?), and to write incredible run-on sentences simply because our compelling ideas could not possibly be expressed in six words, a capital letter, and a period.
Little did we know that it would come to life on a fitted piece of cloth with holes for the neck, arms, and torso. (It was a surprise for us too – we had to go out and replace all of our three-holed shirts. No wonder they felt awkward on us.)
At Bear Kid, our belief in constant creativity and long-lasting inspiration extends to the most basic details: our t-shirts are heat-set so that the durable designs won’t stretch or wash out. Logos are stitched on quality cut denim. And the fact that our designs are exclusive means that you won’t find this stuff anywhere else.
A throwback to cartoons and video games, Bear Kid’s gridlike designs represent the perfect combination of structure and brilliant simplicity.
