If you haven’t heard of Epic Meal Time, you should hop onto YouTube some time and check these guys out. These guys raid the supermarkets and local fast-food joints, buying only the meatiest of products; especially bacon.
They were recently looking for new hats, so Bear Kid showed them some support and sent them one! Above is a photo captured by Petit Petit Gamin, featuring Pellep and Sauce Boss (Harley Morenstein, leader if EMT).

As a new, small company trying to grow and produce high quality product for their customers, we’re bound to hit a few bumps along the way. This just happens to be one of those bigger bumps!

We wanted to release three new designs for men; Toronto Varsity (for men and women), HVY HTTRS, The Champs, and jeans. By Februrary, everything had been designed and ready for production. After many meetings with our new distributor, we placed our order and eagerly awaiting the new apparel.

Two days ago, we finally received the shipment! Naturally, we were both excited and nervous for how the product turned out. To our disdain, we were unsatisfied (to say the least) with the entire shipment and have decided that we cannot sell something we don’t believe in.

Here are some images:

At face value, these t-shirts don’t look too bad. But if we take a closer look…

Here, the neck tag is sitting under the neck seam. We can’t have that.

These woven tags are located at the bottom of the shirt, adding some spice to the t-shirt. But if you look closely, the Bear Kid logo is squished vertically.

At least the inside looks alright. Next up, we have The Champs t-shirt:

The Champs ended up a different colour blue t-shirt from what we asked. Take a look:

The Toronto Varsity shirt for men had the least problems, but like the other shirts, the screens weren’t to our quality standards.

As for the Toronto Varsity shirt for women, this one was the strangest. We were inspecting the shirts and realized that no average human body would be shaped like these shirts. We opened a medium sized shirt, and were only able to wear it as a hat. Our pet Maltese now wears one to sleep. How embarrassing.

For the reasons mentioned above, as well as a few other reasons not mentioned, we will hold back on releasing these shirts for now. But don’t worry! Bear Kid will put these shirts out, just at a later date.

Don’t forget to keep moving up, keep trying, and keep it grizzly.

3. Find a cool/interesting/awesome spot for Bear Kid and tape, glue, pin, nail, weld him into place.
4. Take a picture of it. Feel free to pose beside it. Be creative!
5. Post submission onto the Bear Kid Facebook Page wall.

There are a total of five (5), limited edition Bear Kid toques to be had, all you have to do is enter for a chance to win. You may only enter once and the winners will be decided based on creativity and effort by our panel. So have fun, go nuts, don’t do anything illegal (don’t get caught) and show us what you’re made of. We will announce the winners by February 5th, 2011 and will notify them through Facebook message.

The Bear Kid online store is now finally open! First off, we’d like to thank everyone for all the support, Facebook “likes”, followers, and believers. Special thanks go out to our good friends Veronica Wong for all the coding that went into this, Ryan Lau and Frances Lam for taking the model photos, Jeff Yung and Shawn Gargoum for their good looks and everyone else who purchased Bear Kid merchandise from the back of our trunks (this is not a metaphor).

Bear Kid managed to grab a few hats from New Era and we are very thankful for that! Right now, we have 24 hats in total. 12 in the Light Grey, and 12 in the Dark Grey, and 2 in every size. The stock is very limited and most likely will not be for sale online. The good news is that after this batch, we will introduce more hats, possibly in different colours. So stay tuned for new hats that will become available in the near future!

Bear Kid’s second photo shoot; featuring real people! The photo shoot took around 2 hours, including set up and test shots. After many test shots and a bunch of fooling around, we were ready to start. Bear Kid was fortunate to have had the help of three amazing individuals. First up we have Ryan Lau:

Ryan is a photographer who shoots anything from weddings, apparel, and even casual outings. He’s a great guy to work with, and his photographs won’t disappoint! You can see more of his work here

Then we have Frances Lam. Frances is a graphic designer who has a passion for photography and a love for birds. Her and Ryan teamed up for this shoot, and together captured some really great photographs. Frances offers commissioned graphic design services, so if you would like to see more of her work or contact her, you can find her here.

Last but certainly not least, we have Bear Kid model Jeff Yung, an aspiring young actor. Recently directing his first play, Boat People, as well as acting in many other plays in the past, Jeff is making a name for himself in the field.
